Shaft kit lca
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I dropped my lower control arms off at napa to get new shaft kits put in and they installed them the same on both sides... Isn't the notch supposed to be at the front? Opposite side of the shock mount.

Re: Shaft kit lca
I think my pins are in the rear saddle.

Re: Shaft kit lca
The dimple goes towards the front of the truck, for a 72 disc front end anyways, which mine is. I assume it is the same for your 68.

Re: Shaft kit lca
Yeah one of mine is on the front and one on the back.
What's the reasoning for the placement in case they try to argue? |

Re: Shaft kit lca
The hole in the shaft seats over a small stud in the x-member positively locating the arm into a set position as well as helping prevent the shaft from rotating.

Re: Shaft kit lca
Yeah, if you don't have them in the right location, your shaft will not seat correctly in the saddle. The pin keeps them from rotating and from sliding forward or back.
I have seen some shafts that have these dimples on each end so they can be put in either way. I would get NAPA to correct the wrong one OR if you don't want to deal with it, drill a new dimple in the correct location. Won't hurt the shafts but make sure they are the correct location or alignment could be an issue.

You never know so it's worth confirming before having them re-done.
