Re: 1962 ls swap
If you keep the fuse box under the hood of the 5.3 is the cheapest and easiest way to go. I think this is what your looking for though.
http://ls1tech.com/forums/conversion...-basics-4.html http://lt1swap.com/wiringharness.htm http://www.lt1swap.com/underhoodfuseblock.htm I hope that helps. |

Re: 1962 ls swap
If only the fuse box was cut out then you will be ok. Make sure the pcm wires are ok though. The fuse box will need to be cut out and labeled to make the fuse block an other things anyhow.
http://lt1swap.com/pictures/11_cut_w..._connector.jpg http://lt1swap.com/geniv_harness.htm Just take your time. I didn't think it was that bad and I don't like doing eletrical work. If you email brendan@lt1swap.com he will help you because you will probably need to get your computer reflashed by him. Keep me updated though. I am almost finished with my 66 c20 5.3 swap and i have a 54 belair 5.3 swap I will be doing next for my fiance. |

Re: 1962 ls swap
FYI... your going to love it!
MPG, readily available parts, EFI!....jealous easy starts.... and even power band... 5.3L LM7/4L60e swap http://youtu.be/ItDapqDX4WQ?list=UUq...PwZxt6VH22Vahg The stock 5.3L moves this truck out with ease... (well it should... its 2000 lbs lighter than the truck it came out of) Long tubes, a CAI, and a bit of right foot attention and they move out quick for even the stock form.

You'll have to find your inner patience... if you don't know you'll have to find out.... "Guessing" will lead to failure... Get comfortable with your electrical schematics... It was one tool I didn't have prior to undertaking mine... but now so glad I did... another tool in the mental toolbox now. LT1swaps and ls1tech along with the LSX engine subsection on the board here will be your friends. Worth every penny in my opinion. I have a wired up 'tow-haul' mode button in my 66 c10 on the dash that when depressed... that takes the truck "towing" shift program page which was re-written when I got it tuned to mimic a 06' GTO in its shift points etc. AKA my 66 c10 has normal 05' silverado grandma MPG mode and then haul monkey butt mode.

Re: 1962 ls swap
I have a 02 Burb. It has the 5.3. As long as I have owned it the one exhaust manifold was bad. I got that fixed yesterday. Does this thing ever run good. I think its the answer. Id like one in my 64 BBWLWB and my 66 Impala...
