Donor truck
I am wondering which vehicles are possible to be a donor. I have the body panels but am missing most of the mechanics. So I know any c10 or k10 from 73-87 will give me what i need but would anything else like suburbans or blazers from that time period also be able to give me the mechanics. And i mean like i need complete brake system, complete steering system, drivetrain and wiring. Thanks in advance for any help

Re: Donor truck
any c10-30 or k10-30 but you will need to match it all to one so id you go 10 keep it all 10

Re: Donor truck
If its the 74c10 your asking about use a c10 long bed the driveshaft will be to long but 90% of everything else you need will work.81 and newer used a 700r4 so if you want a over drive keep that in mind.If you got the money you can buy a new wiring harness with updates http://store.73-87chevytrucks.com/me...gory_Code=ELEC

Re: Donor truck
Thank you. I was thinking it would be better to get a new wiring harness than to hope the donor truck would have one not all cut up or deteriorated.

Re: Donor truck
Wires do get brittle with age so its best to replace it all if you can afford the price.
