Re: truck ralley with corvette center caps???

I have dug through many threads here regarding steelies and rally wheels, and to the best of my knowledge I haven't seen any rallies with these caps posted here yet.

Mine I just took off after 2000 Miles. Chrome Rallys dual pattern 5 on 5 and 5 on 5.5 Police caps, no rings but you could do rings and derbys, awful fancy. BFG 275-60-15 I just listed them on Craigs List.

I don't think those clips work on the 6 lug wheel. I asked and they said it would work right.

Their Ebay add states the clips won't work on 6 lug wheels.

Re: truck ralley with corvette center caps???

I bought a set. The derby cap won't clear the front dust cover/rotor. i didn't spend a lot of time looking the situation over, but set your derby's up to your wheel and see if they clear before you order these.

I have a new set of derby's and the clips on the shelf.

Davis. Do you think it's a particular brand of derby cap that doesn't clear? Possibly a 1/4" or so wheel spacer would give the needed clearance? Or possibly some clearancing behind the cap itself would work?
I have to say it does have a smooth look.

Re: truck ralley with corvette center caps???

You know what, I was just sitting here trying to remember if I tried the caps in the OP or the flat caps. I will look tomorrow.

It would be a simple task to hold the caps up to the wheel to see if they clear.

I bought my center caps from hubcaps.com. They have original and repop. I used the repop on the front of my truck b/c i had to cut the center out for the 4X4 wheel lock. Didnt want to cut up OEM caps, so they went on the back. OEM Corvette caps were 75.00, repop were 35.00.

Wheelvintique makes the 15x8 6 lug truck ralleyes that i m using

Re: truck ralley with corvette center caps???

Ignore what I said in post #11. I looked in the storeroom today and I was trying to use the flat style caps with the clips. My statement was not relevant to this thread because the caps referred to here are the regular Corvette rally wheel derby type.

Sometimes its better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid, than open it and remove all doubt.

I am going to say no because the clipping surface is made different... Post a picture of the wheel you are talking about and I am sure someone will have some insight....
