3 or 4 nub wheels

I am trying to find some 15x8 OEM steel wheels for my 72 K5. Did they come with 3 or 4 nubs, whats the difference and does it matter. I am wanting to use the dog dish hub caps, thanks.

Re: 3 or 4 nub wheels

The 15x8 are tough to find and usually pretty pricey when you do.

Im not an expert, but I did some research on steelies. I have 15x6 4 nub steelies. I believe the 3 nubs will not clear disk brake calipers and the 4 nubs will clear the disk brakes. I have front disk brakes on my 71. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I don't want to spread misinformation.

This is absolutely correct. When disc brakes came out, on cars and trucks, the wheels were changed to 4-nub.

Re: 3 or 4 nub wheels

I cam across a set of these. 15 x 5.5 3 nub. Any idea on what year these are from and will they fit 72 jimmy? Stampings on the rim are " Canada 12 DO 22 G K2 9 Keisey 5 x 5 1/2 K

Re: 3 or 4 nub wheels

Grillzy, I hope some one will clear this up about 4 nub and 3 nub. I had always heard that 3 nub would only fit over drum brakes but in the last few days I have had several board members to tell me that there 71s and 72s (that came with disk brakes) came with 3 nub wheels instead of 4 nub wheels. Go figure!

Re: 3 or 4 nub wheels

Don't want to hijack this thread, but I received a couple of PMs inquiring about tire side wall bulge with the 15x6 Steelies and 31x10.50s. Not much tire bulge at all. Please let me know if y'all need pics of another angle. Love this combo!
