will a '71-72 front bumper be a direct fit for a '68?
Just wanted to make sure, will a 71' front bumper fit on a '68 perfectly with no modifications?

I believe it will, as far as I know the frames were the same from 67-72 and brackets should match right up. If someone knows different I'll appreciate the education if I'm wrong.

It will but you will have two sets of front turn signals

That would be kind of cool.. Anyone know it the 71-72 bumper lights line up with the turn signal lights on a 69-70 grill? Looks like they line up with 67-68 turn signals. I think it would be cool if they lined up exactly.

it would be cool to make the bumper holes into fog lights.

It would be cool to do fog lights. Some 100w KC's or something comparable. I've got an idea bouncing around my head for a grill interior/perimeter LED-strip turn signal too. Would go well with a 67-68 grille. Would look all futuristic too

Re: will a '71-72 front bumper be a direct fit for a '68?
This is a good question. My question is are you using 67-68 or 71-72 bumper brackets? The bumper brackets are definitely different. I am not sure on the overall geometry of the bumpers when comparing a 67-70 to a 71-72 bumper, other than the turn signals being embedded into the the bumper on the 71-72, and the GMC being specific in itself 67-72. I believe if you use the 67-70 brackets, a '71 bumper should fit on a '68. I'd wait for some others to chime in who may have actually done this.

Re: will a '71-72 front bumper be a direct fit for a '68?
71-72 bumper requires the use of 71-72 brackets. The turn signal hole is right where the 67-70 bracket bolt would be. 71-72 bumper will bolt up to a 67-70 and vice versa as long as matching brackets are used but looks a little odd imo
