71 C-10 No Crank / Start.
I'm new here and read a few post and so far I like what I see a lot.
About 10 years ago my grandfather gave me his 1971 C-10 that I call Old YellerNator. After a couple years the motor blew and I had a remanufacured motor from NAPA put in. It only has about 7.000 miles on it. When gas hit $4 I parked it and neglected it. With gas under $2 I decided to get it on the road again. Today I went to crank it and nothing happend. I jumped the starter and the motor turned over but I get no action when turning the key. Well I've lost my key to it so I was just using a screwdriver. Do you guys have any advice on what I should look at to get it rolling again? |

Spray some starting fluid in the carb or pour just a little gas in it and then crank it. If it fires, you know you have spark and it doesn't get gas for some reason ( filter plugged, gunk in carb bowl....). If it doesn't fire, you don't have a spark.

There's a little junction block near the battery mounted on the inner fender. Make sure that you have a good connection there.
