Notched front crossmember question.
For anyone running with a notched front crossmember is your steering box in the same spot? or is is also raised up the same amount as the notch? (for example 1.5") I was going to raise my steering box so the shaft would go over the upper control arm as it originally did but then the part of the steering link that goes under my oil pan is going to hit!!! (i have 6 clinder in my truck) What is recommended? thanks.

When the crossmember is raised the front of the member must also be cut away and clearanced for the additional steering movement. As far as the mount of the steering components they should remain the same and be operational. For more info contact Bill Turner of Turner enterprises. 909-926-1729. I got my member from him but I will be running a rack and pinion and will not have the extra components to deal with.

Ok so if i notch the front crossmember 1.5" and leave the steering box in the same spot the tie rod ends are going to be at a much greater angle. will this affect my steering or anything? Is there a maximum angle that will be too much for the tie rod ends? Or just go with it and see what happens? thanks

I was told by Bill Turner who makes alot of these notches and he claims that you can simply turn the center link over and rebolt everything together. By turning it over the mounting point I assume is lower by a bit.
