Plow Trucks.
just picked up a Meyers period correct plow for my 84, I am looking for more info if any could please give me photos of their plow trucks and how the plow frames mount to your chassis.
If anyone can identify exactly what model I have here that would be extremely helpful. I will need wiring schematics and mounting hardware. Thanks in advance for the help.

Re: Plow Trucks.
Last year I bought a 79 with an existing western plow on it I have no real knowledge of plows but my plow frame you had to kick off the bump stops for the axels and it bolts through the frame under the bumper and in front of the engine crossmember. the brackets for the pump attach to this too and there are brackets so you can mount the OEM front bumper on it. The plow has a triangle part that you put pins in to to hold it to the bolt on frame and you then use a chain to the pump for up and down action

Re: Plow Trucks.
Here is the Meyers Plow I have my 85 K5. Same blade and A frame as yours. The part that mounts to the truck has some similarities. Mine is a full hydraulic, has a pump that looks like a GM power steering pump a reservoir that holds a gallon of fluid and a valve body that mounts on the fender well with two long rods that go through holes in the firewall into the cab. I paid $200 for it and have about another $150 stuck into it with new hoses and hardware. Still have two hoses to replace yet.

Re: Plow Trucks.
I set up the blinkers/running lights to run with the normal ones. I then just wired two toggle switches with relays for the high and low beams. Meets the needs and is way less complicated than the switchover headlight harness normally used.

Re: Plow Trucks.
Looks like the same plow frame I have with a Meyer E47. Check out some pics on the 1st page of my build thread (link in my signature).
It'll bolt on at the front of the frame horns and the brace runs up and bolts just ahead of the bump stops. Also there are some brackets to relocate the bumper ahead of the plow frame.

Re: Plow Trucks.
sounds like the setup my old 78 bronco had,
running off the power steering pump... It had plow supports to the frame(just see them a bit below)

Re: Plow Trucks.
the guy I got the plow from said he unbolted it. (no welding, maybe drill a few holes)?
it apparently has brackets to attach the bumper in an extended position after the plow bracket is installed. we picked up the bracket and got it in the shop just before three feet of snow hit us. I won't be able to get to it for a few days. thanks for all the help and comments

Re: Plow Trucks.
I had to drill the holes in the frame where the brackets mount above the leaf springs. The front frame work uses the bumper bracket holes. I made the brace that connects the upper and lower frame work together out of some angle iron I had laying around as I didn't get all the brackets.
