Dizzy Question
Long story short I bought a Summit small cap distributor after figuring out a large cap hei unit wouldn't work (hit the manifold). Sold the stand alone fuel injection and now have the option to use the GM hei I bought. Its used but in great shape. The only issue I have with the summit one is the remote coil. Heres a link:
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-850055/overview/ Motor is a sbc 400, .030 over with ported 113 aluminum heads, LT4 hotcam (218/228 @50 roller cam), 10.1 to 1 compression and should never see above 5600-5700 rpms. Reliability is what im after, this is why im asking opinions since the hei is in most cases dead reliable. |

Re: Dizzy Question
You would need an ignition control box to go along with that aftermarket distributor. The HEI is self contained. Both are very reliable with the magnetic pickup style triggering.
