Original seats from estate auction possible NOS
I just traded for these seats. They don't exactly match the seats in my 71 C10 but I think that I can make them work. But.... before I go and weld/drill on these I want to find out what I have. There is a stencil mark on the back fabric that has me really intrigued but I cant seem to find anything on the seats. Unfortunately I do not have the slides/brackets for mounting.
My wife and I think that the stencil says "BURTON-DIXIE" "864933-R9H" "3-8-68" If anyone can tell me what these seats are out of, please let me know. If you need more pictures from different angles please let me know.

Re: Original seats from estate auction possible NOS
not an expert on seats, but the upholstery, springs, and bracket, and seat back shape don't look like the original 68 bench i have in my shop right now. looks like a very nice seat though...

Re: Original seats from estate auction possible NOS
I can't ID it, but it's just one seat, right? It may be new take out or possibly new covers.

Re: Original seats from estate auction possible NOS
It is just one seat. The reason I am thinking that it is from a pick up is the fact that the back of the back rest is not covered. Generally if the back was going to show such as in a station wagon or something similar the back would be finished. But who knows. I will check out pictures of station wagons and see if I can find something that matches. Thanks guys. Even if the seat isn't from a truck it nearly works perfect as far as size goes. I will have to fab some sort of bracket though. The upholstery work was really well done.

Re: Original seats from estate auction possible NOS
It does have the folding bracket like a 68 would. But does look kinda like newer covers. Would need a close up to see. The bottom does look flawless as though never installed.

Re: Original seats from estate auction possible NOS
OK I took some more pictures to better show the mounting locations and alignment of the two halves together. When I was taking the pictures I noticed that the curved brackets are not wide enough to fit over the entire seat so that when you lean the back of the seat forward the brackets will not rub on the seat cushion and cause the edges to wear down. With that being said I think that the seat maybe one of the seats that are suppose to have the bottom cushion lift up and forward and then the back cushion be pulled forward to gain access behind the seat. What do you guys think?

Re: Original seats from estate auction possible NOS
Well I went to the local upholstery shops and both the shop "Old timers" said it was from an international or a dodge late 60s. I haven't been able to find much on the bench seats from these trucks. So it looks like I am going to fab up a frame for this. Build thread to come.

Re: Original seats from estate auction possible NOS
I have these seats in my 68, but they are red. I've been trying to find out what they were from for awhile now! Anyone know what Original 68' C10 red cloth bench seats look like?
