Bought a new pickup tonight

Saw this pickup listed on the local Facebook classified page today. It is a 71 with a 68 front clip. I plan on putting this box on my 72 3/4 ton, then I don't know what with the rest of the pickup.

Re: Bought a new pickup tonight

I got two extra fenders, set of full wheel covers, new cab corners, and four new side marker lights with it too.

Re: Bought a new pickup tonight

Paint the reliefs black in your wheels, like mine are, and put those on your 72 1/2 ton. I happened across a set of 10 fin Vector (thats what the General Lee had on it) 6 bolt wheels for my 69 Custom 10 years ago, finally got them put on recently. It will look close to the General Lee wheels, and make it look like a 70's era build. Just my opinion, but I'm sure you'll find a home for them.

Re: Bought a new pickup tonight

If I wouldn't have ordered a set of American Racing Anse Slots last week for the 72 I would have put these on.

Re: Bought a new pickup tonight

You may already know this, but just in case you don't, that driver's side fender is a 69-72 Chevy.
And hello, from a little bit east.

Re: Bought a new pickup tonight

Thank you for the tip on the fenders. Can you tell me the difference on them? I knew I kinda have a jig saw puzzle of pickups here.

Re: Bought a new pickup tonight

From the position of the headlights, The hood and grill are the only 67-68 items on the nose. The 69-72 fenders are pinched on front cause the aluminum grill on 69-72 covers that area.

Re: Bought a new pickup tonight

Like panelman said. The leading edge on the fender is designed to "match up" to a 69-72 Chevy grille, whereas it's part of the 67/68 grille. You can really tell by the hood, the fenders stop flowing with the hood where it's crinkled for the 69/72 grille.

Here is the how to on converting the headlight buckets to the 67/68 style: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=399960
