What Electric Fuel Pump Are You Running?
If my truck sits for more than a few days, my Edlebrock carb is empty and it takes several seconds of pumping the gas pedal while cranking the engine over before it will start. I'm thinking an electric fuel pump will pressurize the fuel in the line, sending it to the carb much quicker.
My question is, is this a common issue with the Edlebrock carbs? And will an electric fuel pump help? If so, please tell me what you are using. |

Re: What Electric Fuel Pump Are You Running?
I would bet the diafram in the pump has gone bad letting the fuel to leak back.

Re: What Electric Fuel Pump Are You Running?
Thanks Andy, but it is a new pump. I heard the Edelbrock carbs are notorious for vaporizing the fuel due to heat soak.

Ok,
well get a electric one with no more than 20PSI and I would bet you need a regulator along with a return line to the tank. Not sure though never ran electric on a carb motor!

Re: What Electric Fuel Pump Are You Running?
Holley red electric fuel pump. Puts out 7 psi so you do t need a regulator. Has its own internal bypass too. I like mine.

Re: What Electric Fuel Pump Are You Running?
That sounds a lot better than what I posted. I didn't realize they made them that low! To be honest I was guessing at the PSI!
