Bench Seat to Bucket Seats help wanted
I am ready now to change out my Bench Seat for Buckets and was planning all along on using search to bring up the past postings on where to drill the new holes for the swap out ..
And as we all know Search is down for awhile .. I did find this drawing from Mel classic bowties in my photos ,,I believe some said that I could use the outer holes from the bench seat on one side or the other but would have to drill the rest,, I am not sure of just which holes I can use and whih one I need to drill anew anyone got the threads saved with the answers or maybe some one just knows ..appreciate any help

Re: Bench Seat to Bucket Seats help wanted
Here's the best thread I've seen on this subject when using factory buckets.

Re: Bench Seat to Bucket Seats help wanted
I just installed the 1999 Tahoe seats in my 71. Use both sides outter holes closest to the doors then drill the 4 inner holes. That's how I did it.
Why does everyone say the search is down. I've been using it non stop lately! I think this is the thread it shows your picture plus some more. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=516328

Re: Bench Seat to Bucket Seats help wanted
Thx to you all for the help ,,I must of not read the memo on where the search button was as I thought it was down the page some before,, and all the talk about it being down lately ,,I just figered?? just might be getting to old to remember it all ,,but still having fun trying,, lol
I am putting in the set of original bucket seats I bought 3 years ago on my way to Idaho from a forum member near Pendleton Oregon..They are in pristine shape , I will take some pictures to add to the Search area ..I will do my best at doing it right and not crowding the console .. hope to find them dimples ,,but if not I will follow the best ideas these guys that have posted and go with it..

Re: Bench Seat to Bucket Seats help wanted
Bolt holes that are in my floor pan for the bench seat on drivers side are 15 1/4 inches center to center,,this from back hole to front hole
Bolt hole in my drivers side bucket seat frame is 12 3/4 inch center to center ,,this is from back hole to front hole . Anyone on here see this as a correct measurement from a bench to bucket lay out of bolt holes,, I'm going ahead with it ,,just surprised me that they were that far off ,,with this much difference there should be no question about using the same holes ,,right ,,as you cant.. unless I have Suburban seats or something,, ??

{ I realize I could do this on my own ,,I just want to try others ideas and then decide,,and yours look like what it would need to be } thx if you can do this ,, I want to find a happy medium of how much room that I will have between the console and the seat and also how much room I will have between the seat and the door ... I too have the hex head bolts,,but I will out in round head pan bolts so the caret will smooth out better,,

Re: Bench Seat to Bucket Seats help wanted
This will sound weird but I sat the drivers side seat in the truck and sat in it for 5-10 minutes getting a feel for it. I changed the seat seating around while doing it. I made sure the seat was lined up with the steering wheel first then looked at how much sliding the seat could do. I lined the passenger seat up with the glove box which is about the same as the drivers side just no steering wheel. The console will go in between the seats.

Re: Bench Seat to Bucket Seats help wanted
I have some threads saved for bucket seats. If you want to send me a PM with your email address, I will cut and paste them into a note and forward on to you. I am getting ready to do the same installation and am almost ready to start so I think I understand your situation. Larry
P.S. yes, my brackets for driver side measure 12 3/4" between front/back bolt holes.
