Hello,
I'm gearing up for a front disk brake conversion on my 63 gmc. I purchased
A conversion kit from performance online. 6lug 2.5 inch drop with booster. I also bought the new brake lines. I need to limit the downtime for the truck because I run my business out of it.
Is there anything else I should get before I start? Any special tools needed?

I searched but was unable to find anything.

Lots of info on that
check the FAQ section 60-66
It would certainly be a good time to do upper and lower ball joints
and evn tie rod ends

It's hard to say without knowing more detail on just what is included in the kit you bought. Also a '63 GMC should have a hydraulic clutch. That will have to be addressed when adding a vacuum booster and disc/drum master cylinder. I do make a booster bracket just for the '60-'62 Chevy's and '60-'63 GMC's with the hydraulic clutch. Or has your truck been converted to an auto trans? I also make booster brackets for that application that will cover up the extra hole in the firewall. One of our members, Woogeroo, looks to have spent countless/valuable hours that contribute heavily to the compiled links AND information AND how-to's--very well organized by truck year, model, etc.
