I need opinions

I have found two different 72 2wd blazers for sale. One for around 28k and one for 18,500. I wanted to get some opinions on how much I should expect to pay for a clean 72 2wd blazer?

Re: I need opinions

1) I wish I had your problem.
2) 28k is 100% unrealistic unless Chuck Norris owned it.
3) Post up BOTH blazers. Specs, pictures, all info. Guys here have a wealth of knowledge and can (and will) tell you everything you do (and don't) want to hear about a potential purchase.

Re: I need opinions

Hahahaha. I'm green but not that green. One is a 72 2wd with stock suspension, 18" wheels, clean interior with leather seats from different vehicle, 350 motor, turbo 350 trans. for 18,500

The other is a 72 2wd with air bags but no frame notch, 20" wheels, clean interior with leather seats from a different vehicle, 350 motor, turbo 350 trans. for 28000

Re: I need opinions

That blazer is sweet!! It would take more than what he is offering to build it like that. I guess it would depend on what style you are looking to have. Do you want original or custom?

It would be hard for me to let mine go. They are awesome to drive around. Especially in California

Re: I need opinions

I kinda felt like the price was high. I spoke with him and could only get him to come down to 25,500. If I can find another one that is clean, like this, and already bagged, how much should I be expecting to pay?

Oh yeah, here is the other one.

Is this priced to high or more realistic for what it is?

Re: I need opinions

I really hope you are right.

No I hate the flame paint and the louvered hood. I really want to buy something that is rust free, been updated with disk brakes, a fuel injected motor and an overdrive transmission, stock or custom interior (makes no difference as long as its clean), air ride suspension and decent wheels. Not all of these are musts, but if I'm gonna spend the money I really want to buys something that is complete.

I'm looking at other vehicles but I have wanted a bagged 70 to 72 2wd k5 blazer for a long time.

Re: I need opinions

Oh I have been for quite a while. Not much popping up on there. I have a feeling I'm going to end up over paying for something that's not really what I want just so I can get a 2wd blazer. I know production numbers were pretty low on the 2wd in this body style, and because of that they are hard to find. Most people that have one want to hold on to them.

Re: I need opinions

The white blazer has been around for awhile. A guy here in town bought it and hung on to it for a couple years then sold it. I saw it in person a couple of times and its really nice. The guy that built it in California has a website he left up with lots of pictures and info. You can check it out at www.1972c5.com.

Re: I need opinions

The guy that built it was actually a board member. He put a lot of work into it and it is built well. There have been a couple of owners since he sold it. It came to Western Washington (the guy selling it now) within the last year.

Re: I need opinions

Yes to much for them both...maybe $12-15k for the flamed one & $20-22k for the other one is the most I could see giving.
But then again it's your money and when you think that they want $40k for a new truck these days; everything is expensive to build one too.

Re: I need opinions

Funny you said $20-22k, my first offer was 20 and he shot it down so I came up to 22,500 and he said the lowest he could do was 25,500.

Re: I need opinions

So if I could pick up something similar to the one with flames, I shouldn't be looking to spend anymore than 12-15k??
