68 SWB 4x4
Well, I can no longer afford 2 projects and it needs to go. The truck is in alot of pieces at this time as I had the cab off the frame for restoration. Here is a description. Its a 68 short wide 1/2 ton. It has a 3:07 geared 12 bolt rear axle and a 77 disc brake dana front. I also have a dana rear axle that goes with it if your into 8 lug. The transmission and transfercase were just redone prior to the attempted restoration. They are a turbo 400 and gear drive 205 transfer case. I have new brakes, shocks on the front with warn hubs and ball joints but there not in yet. I also have a new AGR power steering box but no fluid has run threw it. The motor is a 1970 350 4 bolt. It has new everything inside it with forged pistons and a comp cam, roller rockers ported 2.02 heads, edelbrock rpm intake, Holley off road carb, new MSD distributor, Hooker super comp headers, water pump etc. The motor should be good for a easy 375 horse. I have only started it for about 20 seconds and it buried the oil preasurre gauge. All the sheet metal on the cab is solid. There is no rust threw or heavy scale, mostly just some surface rust under the cab. The passenger side front fender is a hair rusty in the lower front pocket from the old style batteries. The radiator is only 2 years old and is a heavy 4 row and also has a external oil cooler for the tranny and oil. The fuel filler behind the seat was shaved and filled really nice. And a 72 blazer(new) tank was put in back between the frame rails. The inside is in fair shape. It has not been cut for speakers or radio, and still has the factory am/fm in it. All the gauges and dash lights work. The interior paint was shot about 1 year ago in victory red. The carpet is gray and not worth talkin about. The bench seat is in good shape and not sagged out. Both the windshield and back window seals have been replaced. I have a chrome bumper for the front that is in fair shape, and a aftermarket chrome step for the rear. The short box has not had any body work done to it yet. So it has some dents and bangs and the wood floor needs redone. But as far as i can tell there is no major rust. But it needs help. I have a set of 4 BFG all terrain tires with about 50% tread left mounted on chrome 15 inch wheels. But they are 8 lug as that is what I was swapping in. The wheels and tires on it now are just whatever I had layin around to roll it around. The steering cloumne bearings were shot, so I pitched it and have yet to find another so it needs one. Thats about the major high lites. Its been my slow going project and I would like to find a good home for it. So any reasonable offer is cool. I can help with delivery if on the west side of usa. PM oe email me for any questions. I can take pics for those really interested.
