now where i stand today with the build. I got a 1990 c4 donar car, pulled the motor/trans out to use on this truck and also the front and rear suspension.
I dont have pictures of the motor ill get some on here though! Also still working on this picture thing! they seem to be to small now..ill get it worked out! |

Welcome.
Looks like you have a real good start on it. We were all new at this once. Just keep at it and things will get easier. Kim |

Re: 1955 (2nd gen) first timer..
Got some work done on the truck today. I went ahead and put some tack welds on the C4 k-member and set the truck on the ground.. Waiting to see what im gonna do about wheels before i do a final ride height..

Re: 1955 (2nd gen) first timer..
Cool to see another C4 build ! Rec center your k-member, bolt your upper & lower control arms on, bolt steering rack down, set the top of x-member where the upper control arms bolt up at 14 degrees at ride height & rack and pinion arms to the lower control arms level at ride height also. Your mock up w 17in wheels are ok. If you decide on bigger wheel than 20inch, should purchase them first to set your ride height.

Thanks Harvey! Are you saying the A-arms at 14 degrees? Or the x member where the arms bolt to at 14 degrees? |

I'm having fun though! I know it doesn't look like it but I have tons of time in that cab! Maybe because it's my first time, but it took me a solid week to get my dash smoothed out! Lol it took a month or longer to replace all the sheet metal and I still have many more hours just to have it in primer.. Hope to see your build!! |
