Replacement Hoods

Since all replacement hoods appear to be imported, are Goodmark products worth the extra cost? Thanks!

Re: Replacement Hoods

Unless you need a cowl hood, shouldn't be problem to find good used OEM, hoods are the most available used body panel still available in great condition. There are guys on this site probably within an hour of you that have some used ones for sale.

Re: Replacement Hoods

Definetly agree with Vintage Windmills. Seems hoods and cowl panels are the most common original sheet metal parts around. What year and type, Chevy or GMC, are you needing? Check your local salvage yards, back yards, craigslist, local Penny Power or Wheels for You. Last two are local/regional used parts, cars and trucks magazines or publications, pretty sure you would have something similar. As stated unless looking for a cowl hood as many trucks that were made I can't imagine it would be hard to find a nice, decent origianal in the $50-$100 range. Keep looking and 1 should turn up.

Re: Replacement Hoods

I've been watching for over a year. I haven't seen one witching 3 hours for less than $400 for a 67-68 Chevy. YMMV

Maybe try a wtb ad. Its the type of thing many don't bother to list for sale by itself. I've got a few and I don't list them typically since its not a high dollar part and there isnt a ton of interest. Maybe I'm wrong and should list a couple . Last rust free dent free 67 I sold was $150.

Re: Replacement Hoods

Thanks, I am leaning toward a cowl induction for my 68 C10 shorty.
