Less see some rust

Most of our trucks with time developed rust ... I will show what I had to deal with if you show me the rust you had to deal with.

This is what my bed looked like when I purchased my truck.

Re: Less see some rust

Holy Hannah Batman. That rust has a little bit of truck on it.

Here's mine,

Look through the steering wheel you will see the massive amount I am going to have to cut out. Just awful,

Sorry, My Bad, sometimes I can be a jerk.

I did have a heck of a bad cab roof/back to fix though. Not like it's all cherry pie.

When posting pics from an IPad they usually come up sideways but yours is the first I've seen upside down.

Every picture I've ever posted is from an iPad and I've never had one oriented wrong. If I had to guess you use your iPad with rotation lock on and take pictures in portrait mode or something like that. Unlock rotation and always take pictures with the iPad oriented horizontally with the home button on the right. Not saying there's not another way but that's how I use it and never had an issue.

Re: Less see some rust

So, if I hold an I-pad the right way with that rotation lock off pictures of my truck will it show no rust?

Only if you try to lick your ear while doing it. Oh...and you have to have someone else taking a picture of you while this is happening and post it here.

Re: Less see some rust

Or you may have your side switch set to lock rotation.

I win.

The truck is a GMC Jimmy so this isn't even the original tailgate, it's a better one

Re: Less see some rust

The worst on my 72 is the bed. Puppy for scale...

Got the replacement bed disassembled in the garage awaiting media-blasting/minor dent repair/rust neutralizer/primer/reassembly. Plan on having it back together and on the truck this summer, along with a new fuel tank and exhaust.

I've also got the usual rockers/floorboard/inner-fenders rust, but it's not horrible.

Most worried about the possibility of unrepairable rust around the windshield. Guess I'll have to cut the seal and pop the windshield this summer to see how bad it is.
