tool help.
I'm going to try and rebuild 2 transmission this year. I want to make a stand but I cant find this clamp anywhere. I've searcher transmission tool website. Ebay. Amazon. And searched countless forums. could you guys help me out and steer me in the right directio. Ifeel I can't buy one I'll have to make one. here's a pic of what it is.

Maybe a cheap engine stand?
It would then mount to the front trans holes, the tailhousing holes, or the crossmember holes. |

This would be a kent moore part, probably expensive. Go into any gm dealer and ask the tranny guy to look at his stand and get the part# off of it and then go to the parts dept and ask for the price.

I'm confused. How does spending $220 on a tool to rotate a trans in an odd direction for 2 trans make sense?
I can make something from a 2x4 for $10 and reuse the parts for years. I like the right tool as much as anyone but unless you plan a career in home trans rebuilding, wrong tool. |
