Smoothies vs open spoke wheels
Just seeing opinions on wheels like what delmo customs run on there trucks they build vs open wheels. With braking and weight it seems the smoothies would be much heavier and not let heat out from excessive braking. Any input would be great I have a set of 22" boss 335s but wanting some smoothies.

Re: Smoothies vs open spoke wheels
Its clearly a cruisin truck, so I'm not gonna worry too much about the "performance aspect" of this and go for overall usage. Any 22" wheel is gonna be heavy, and I imagine that the weight difference between the smoothie and a regular wheel would be exacerbated in a wheel that size (i.e if the difference is 5lbs for a 15", maybe its 7.5lbs on a 22").
Besides that, you get lack of heat and dust dispersion, which won't affect certain regular use conditions, but will increase fade in heavy traffic or repeated heavy stops from speed. Now, with all that being said, I'd say its pretty important to verify these wheels weights in your size/width. It is possible that a smoothie could come close to the weight of a regular wheel, if it can get away with a thinner wall on the wheel face...since there aren't gaps to bridge, the circle is stiff all the way around with less materials...which would then only make the heat/dust issue relevant. Clear as mud! ps...if you like the way it looks, just run it.

Re: Smoothies vs open spoke wheels
The Centerline smoothies are forged, so they should weigh a good bit less than cast wheels.
