Old Jeep aluminum mags for our trucks....

Since the 'search' function isn't working, I'm hoping someone remembers this...........someone posted a long time back that during the mid 70's Jeep put aluminum slotted mags on Cherokees and that they will fit six-lug trucks. I can't remember exactly what year models they said to look for. Also, being aluminum, can't they be polished? Does anyone remember the sizes? Thanks gang................

Go to the picture board. There is a thread there called slot mags. Pictures and details inside.

I went to the picture board, and found the thread, but didn't see any info on what years of Jeep may have the slotted mags. Can anyone assist with that info? Sixnine is not the only one looking for the slots.

I know I mentioned it at some point. It's even listed in the tech area. My 69 stepside has them on it. Mine are 15X8 with a backspace of 3.5 inches. The only problem is that these are not deep dish. Sooner or later, I would like to change the rear ones so they stick out further for that "old school" look but will probably keep the fronts as they are. Not sure on exact years but the 70's Cherokees came with these as well as another aluminum wheel that resembled the Dukes of Hazzards "General Lee" wheels. (just similar, not the same)

Here's a pic of what mine look like. These were on it when I bought the truck but shortly after, I found another set in the junkyard on a Cherokee. I could have had them for $15 a piece but waited too long...

Oh yeh, these will polish up great! I do mine once or twice a year. Because these are old mags, they aren't like the new ones with the clear coat on them. These are ready to polish as is!

Some Mothers or Blue Magic on a small buffer attached to a hand drill, and they shine up nicely.

BTW, I chose to paint the inner cutouts body color and even painted the brake drum blue. Here's a pic showing that:
