Anyone do this to lift their bed cover?
I think I'll do something similar to this setup so I can easily lift off, store, and put back on my truck's bed cover. What do you guys think?

Re: Anyone do this to lift their bed cover?
i wouldn't want a bed cap hanging in the middle of a garage for long, talk about a head knocker
something like that would work well to take it off and lower it to the floor then you could stand it on end on 2 of the harbor fright furniture mover dollies though you probably don't need the gearing or weight capacity of a boat hoist ten years ago i could take off and install my 8 ft cap myself... not anymore i leave it on the truck anymore

Thanks for the links!
That guy as done about what I have been thinking about for some 8 years. As for me, my cover will have to hang from the ceiling as storage space is at a premium in my garage. |

I think it is a good idea. I would build it to where you would back the truck in. That way it might clear the garage door ceiling brackets and you could get it higher up. That kayak rig looks like it is hanging lower than necessary. I think you could build your own so that it fits more flush with the ceiling.

Re: Anyone do this to lift their bed cover?
I have been watching a lot of youtube videos on hoists and lifts and I think I am going to put in two. One to lift up the bed cover and another as a dedicated lift so I can junk up my garage attic.
LOL. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QKZPJ8HxT24 |
