The Mad 72 k20

I have been reading this forum for years. Lots of great info on this site. Finally decided to start my build thread. So here we go. I bought this 72 k20 from a friend. My friend owned it for several years he decided to take it all apart and have the engine rebuild and the truck painted. Well the guy that was supposed to paint it painted about 1/4 of it and skipped town. The truck sat for about 8 or 9 years. I tried my hardest to get the truck. Finally 1 and 1/2 years ago he sold it to me.

If you upload them to photobucket it will be easier to copy/paste them

If they are online already, just click the tan box at the bottom of this page with the little mountain on it, and insert the URL/Web address there!

Re: The Mad 72 k20

Well I pulled it the rest of the way apart. The paint was peeling off in quite a few spots. I pulled the 402 big block sold it. I had a 5.3 out of a 2000 silverado that I was going to use In a jeep project. (had to sell jeep to pay for this project )

Re: The Mad 72 k20

I pulled the 5.3 apart looked looked really good. No cylinder ridge took crank to the machine shop it was perfect just a polish. I replaced the rings and bearings cam bearings. I also got a takeout 2000 ls1 camshaft off of eBay. Also replaced oil pump lifters and timing chain.

could you by chance post a few pics of how those 98 manifolds fit and what you used for mounts/crossmember clearancing?

Pictures of cab going on and cab on motor is a little tight but I didn't want to mess with drive lines.
