Advance adapter 50-0405 pictures needed
I will be installing a 4L60E and mating it to my NP 205 soon, but I want to machine my own adapter. I will be buying the 50-6900 output shaft because at $180.00, I can't really make it cheaper.
The price for the aluminum adapter however is quite steep especially living here in Canada, so I was hoping some member may have some close up pictures that would help me fabricate my own. Thanks. |

I ended up thinking the same as you and folded my cards. Bought the entire kit from AA but thru Summit Racing. I decided the headache wasn't worth it. They spent the $$$ designing all these parts, I'd rather go the easy way and cross that part off my build list...

Re: Advance adapter 50-0405 pictures needed
The dollar exchange right now is crap, and just to get the adapter and shaft will cost me almost $800 with brokerage and duty. Making the adapter itself will only take a few hours, but will save me almost $500 for that part alone.I have a CNC plasma cutter here at home, as well as a full machine shop, and enjoy making parts, so it will be a "win-win" situation!! :-)
I would love to see a rear picture of the adapter where it bolts to the transmission, and would also like to know the exact thickness of it. Thanks. |

I own a machine shop and I was planning on making my own adapter as well but I decided to use a NP241 transfer case when I discovered my 205 had a bunch of bad parts in it. I never finished the design but I would be happy to send you the file for the transmission side for the 4L60E. Last edited by A1971Blazer; 04-22-2015 at 07:33 AM. |

Hmm, you don't per chance happen to have the dimensions of the trans side of the bellhousing for a 4L60E do you? I can't seem to get measurements close enough for Solidworks to take them by measuring hole centers.

Oh FYI, I'm trying to make an adapter to mate a 4L60E Bellhousing to a 4L80E pump.

It's for an LS1 (has the top block mount hole at 12:00 position) but if I understand correctly, you want the hole pattern where it bolts to the tranny, not the block? |

I know of at least one person that had to machine an AA adapter to fit...
