Where to mount the ECM?
Ok guys I am getting ready to mount my ECM in the engine bay and was wondering what everyone else has done. Let's see some pics.

Re: Where to mount the ECM?
Some folks rolled their eyes at me for exposing all of my wiring in the engine bay, but its easy to troubleshoot and the ecm has effective cooling there. Its been like this for a couple yeare but I'll be forced to move it when we take the inner fenders out.

Re: Where to mount the ECM?
I put mine inside the glove box along with all of my fuses and relays.

Re: Where to mount the ECM?
I put mine on the passenger side inner fender, I took the factory bracket and cut off the extra plastic and then put rubber feet on it and screwed it down. It works great and should not get to hot. I tried to find a good place in the cab but I did not want to lose the glove box and this just seemed a lot easier.

Re: Where to mount the ECM?
Mine is a custom made harness, but IMO the most versatile stock harness to start with is the service vans. Its got the longest main branches, and everything comes out in only a few places.
The trucks, cars and vans all have the same wiring types, just in different lenghts/branches.

I put mine in the glove box also. I cut the backside of it out for the connections to come through and it fit nice and tight no movement at all.
I still have a little storage room but I use the center console for most stuff anyway! ![]()
