So I had originally said I was going to go pro street but I have switched my ways once again mainly because I am selling my dodge and will need a 4x4 sooooo...... How hard is it to switch a 2wd front end to a 4wd on these trucks? I got a healthy 454 and a built 400 to go in and it was set up for a 2wd so do I need a new trans? I ended up switching a few things on the motor so instead of just going fast I can pull as well but any input or help would be amazing guys and sorry for switching on ya'll haha but I tried looking for a 4x4 around here no luck at all so far thanks again guys

Finding a 4x4 is really the most logical and cost effective direction. However, the 2x4 to 4x4 modification can and has been done. Be prepared for a very in depth project. Tranny will not bolt up to the transfer case that you are going to need for 4X4. It can be converted by removing the tail shaft and replacing the output shaft. It requires completely disassembling the trans. The front end is different (spring mounts, steering components, springs, axle, etc). Unless you are really attached to this truck and have a big budget my suggestion is to find a 4x4.

Re: 72 c30
What about finding a 4x4 chassis and throwing the cab and reared on it? I've already started body work just about done really didn't want to buy an entire pickup maybe a newer chassis perhaps? Hopefully one with a motor and trans if it's fuel injected then I'll have a reason to buy a new project for my big block!!

What ya'll think a good price for a 69 Malibu ss 4spd 350 car it's just a roller body's in good shape same as interior but lacks motor and trans? If anybody has any ideas on what it might be worth would be awesome I've got it found guy said make an offer I don't want to insult him and my dads been wanting this car all his life so I was gonna buy it and restore for him or get running at least before Father's Day!
