Moving upper and lower control arms forward.
I am running 22"s in the front almost laying frame and trying to keep my a/c.
Has anyone ever moved the upper and lower control arms forward by cutting and then welding them. Also has anyone ever tried to use a rack and pinion with the stock crossmember. |

Re: Moving upper and lower control arms forward.
www.pbfab.com sells their Forward Series a-arms.
Make it easy to center the wheel in the wheel opening.

I love the Porterbuilt stuff i just don't have 3k to drop on the front end for the dropmember and the control arms.

Re: Moving upper and lower control arms forward.
You can add just the a-arms to your truck.
The Forward Series arms moves the wheels forward. You can also get them narrowed if you need to tuck the front wheels a little

Re: Moving upper and lower control arms forward.
Porterbuilt would be the easiest way. I believe Michigan Metal Works also can do the same with a special order.
I moved my lower ball joint forward 5/8 of an inch with a set of ball joint cups. You could move it forward a but more and cut the upper arms and reweld them if you want.

Re: Moving upper and lower control arms forward.
why not just modify the ac box on the firewall if that is your only concern? If you are looking to center the wheels in the fender opening you could just slide the whole crossmember forward an inch or so.
