Axel Strap question
I'm in the process of getting a new rear end put in my truck. In the mean time I have been working on getting the axel brackets cleaned up. As I start to scrap away of the 40 some years of dirt a channel began to emerge on one side of the strap. On the other side it appears to be nearly smooth. I thought it was a little weird that they were not symmetrical. I still have some cleaning to do on these but thought I would post them. There is also some pitting on them. I wasn't sure if there was enough to warrant replacement or not.
Thanks, |

Re: Axel Strap question
I'd finish cleaning them and use them. They don't look that bad to me.

Re: Axel Strap question
Toss them and get some newer stamped ones. 3 trucks I've had that style break on me right in the center
