Looking for ECM trouble codes list..
my 91 burb is showing a code 85 and its not in the manual. Anyone got a list or know what code 85 is?

Uhm....I can't find a code 85 either...but here's a site with a ton of codes, always handy to have it bookmarked anyways.

Actually, what engine is that?
Here's a 91 4.9L 85 code: 85 The coast down throttle angle offset is more than 5 degrees from the zero value.

this may be related too, a "generic" code 85 on a GM is an undefined gear ratio

68 stepside thanks for the link. the engine is a 454. im thinking it was probably a code related to the knock sensor.. the P.O. told me that the harness by the starter would fall off sometimes and the check engine lite would come on. There was two codes, 14 which was coolant temp which i already fixed, and 85.. i cleared em and so far so good. Still strange though.

This is what a code book for the OBD1 computer says
Code 85 Electroic control module computer circuit - faulty programmable read-only memory (PROM) or Transmission input or output speed sensor - circuit problems (speed sensor does not agree with selected gear range) or Torque converter clutch (TCC) TCC is mechaniclly stuck on This is exactly how it reads in the book hope this help out. |
