OK Stockers Questions for you. Stock Battery Terminal Orientation?

I was visiting with my neighbor buddy who owns a 1967?? Corvette and has owned a number of 60's and 70's GM muscle cars over the years.

He said my battery terminals were backwards. The are towards the front of the truck. He said all Chevys from this era should have their terminals towards the rear of the vehicle.

I was looking through the thread showing stock engine bays an noticed a mix of orientations. When I bought a new battery I didn't give it much thought. I just replaced it with the same type that was in there.

Any thoughts?
