250 to 292 engine swap
The 292 I am going to put in my 66 was a 4 speed and I am going to mount it to a Powerglide. does the flex plate mount the same way? It looks different on 292 and the bolts need to be bigger. Has anyone done this before and have any advice? thanks

Re: 250 to 292 engine swap
292's have the same mounting points for the bellhousing as V8's

Re: 250 to 292 engine swap
On some 292's the flywheel/flex plate bolts are 1/2" instead of 7/16".

Re: 250 to 292 engine swap
Thanks for the help, guys. The bolts for the crank are bigger they are 1/2 in / 20 treads bought new and they fit nicely. Will re-drill flex plate to except new bolts. The bolt heads are thicker but should not be an issue.
