Front drums for 1970 k20 help

Hello I can not seem to find a place to buy some new front drums for my k20 truck it's a 1970 with 8 lugs and the shoes should be 12x2 any help would be great also I need to get rear drums for my eaton rear diff. Rear you have the bearings inside the axles. I prefer if there is a conversion so I don't have to pull axles every time. Thanks for the help guys.

Re: Front drums for 1970 k20 help

unless things have changed in the last few years, drums for 4x4s are nearly impossible to locate. my advice is swap the front to a later model with disc brakes and use a matching ratio 14 bolt in the rear. some newer 14 bolts have disc brakes if you want disc all-around.

Thanks for the help so far... I know it's tough. I don't have the extra cash for a convert to disk right now.

Re: Front drums for 1970 k20 help

I had the same issue with my 1970 k20 gmc suburban. Even went as far as trying to get some made. Then a buddy at oreillys in tn found me a drum made for 1994-1999 dodge van! Fits perfectly with no machining or adapters! I will look for the part number and post it. They were about $50 each new

Re: Front drums for 1970 k20 help

If you call your local O'Reilly store and ask for the rear drum from a 1994-99 dodge 3/4 or 1 ton van you will have front rotors again!
