Emission fitting on poly tank?
I just successfully swapped in an MTS poly tank for my 1971 K20 Sub (and ditched the black sludge in the old tank!). The new tank come with two copper 'emission fittings' in addition to the vent pipe. What am I to do with these. As you know, the original tanks don't have such things.
Do people just plug them? If so, what do you use to plug them? After filling the tank and driving around I noticed it still smells and I assume that is from these open valves.

Re: Emission fitting on poly tank?
In '72 you would have two lines, from the tank, going to the fuel separator.

Re: Emission fitting on poly tank?
On my 69 Burb when I swapped in a Poly tank I just capped the unused fittings using hose and a bolt clamped in the hose. I don't smell gas from the new tank at all.
In your pic showing the new poly tank the barb fitting next to the filler hole is the overflow fitting that should connect to the fuel filler neck. That is how its on my 69, maybe someone will chime in about a 72.

Re: Emission fitting on poly tank?
I am about ready to put the same tank in my 71, I am just going to cap them off but will use them when I go to f.i. for the return line.

Re: Emission fitting on poly tank?
So I am about to do the same thing very soon. Should i just cap off the emission fittings or run them into the canister in the back?
