65 door panel painting
What is the correct paint "scheme" for the door panels on a 65 Suburban? Also looking for the same for the back(inside)
Any pics of factory or resto paint jobs would be great Thanks |

Re: 65 door panel painting
the whole inside square where the handles are including the indented part is painted white, same for the back panels. 66 just has the indented part painted white. so your 65 will have fawn on the outside square, white on the indented square, the white on the inner most square where the handles are. bet a pictures would be better eh!!!

Re: 65 door panel painting
there was a deluxe interior option where the inner panels were painted white, otherwise the interior was just painted a solid color: silver for 60-61, and fawn for 62-66
* panel is a resto, so maybe not 100% correct

Re: 65 door panel painting
The rear panels in a 65 Suburban are the same as the '66 shown above, however the door panels are different. Sub door panels matched pickups from 64-66, changing a little every year.
This thread shows the correct look for each year: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=528786 |

Re: 65 door panel painting
Guys, THANKS. I have just the center section, without the indented ring done but wasn't sure if this was correct. Your help is very much appreciated. Have a safe and fun Memorial Day.
