let's see some 8 lug trucks
I am curious to see how many of use there are I have noticed a increasing number of 3/4 and 1 ton trucks ,my only guess is there is a lesser demand so there cheaper then the half ton variety. I will start out with mine.

Re: let's see some 8 lug trucks
Hi HotRod66 - I agree with you. I believe that there is less interest in the 3/4 and 1 tons' with many of the people that do get them, change their original configuration for one that is more driveable on today's roads and speeds.
Here is mine: 1965 C20 Coil Springs with Helpers, 292 with 3speed on the column, No Power Anything! |

Re: let's see some 8 lug trucks
I also believe that the supply of half tons is drying up and some are "settling" for a 3/4 ton to get the body style they want. I used to feel that way myself, now I find I'm actually wanting a 3/4 ton.

1965 C30 srw. I still have the 17" lock ring wheels it came with. Now it sits on 16" wheels with 235/85-16 tires.

Re: let's see some 8 lug trucks
Don't blame you for the w wheel change split rims are scary ,I did the same I kept the one mounted on the bed for pure nostalgia.

Re: let's see some 8 lug trucks
Real split rims would be scary, I agree. Lock ring wheels (3 piece) get lumped in with the really bad wheels but shouldn't. I changed the wheels mostly because the damn 7.50-17 tires are expensive. The truck looked a little better with the larger 34" tires on it. I may buy the right tires some day and go back to the original wheels. For now, the old spare is mounted high and proud.

Re: let's see some 8 lug trucks
Here's my '66 GMC 2500 133" WB. I just pulled the fire support body off. The body weighed more than the truck.

Re: let's see some 8 lug trucks
I suppose my POS has to make an appearance; '65 C30 with 9' stepside bed. 250 six/SM420 4 speed/4.10 gears. 76+ mile per day DD.

Re: let's see some 8 lug trucks
I don't have any better pics at the moment, but here's my '66 C20 I dragged out of a field last spring. 5"/3" drop 1/2 ton springs. Just finished making all new brake lines over the weekend. Hoping to have it mobile before Greaserama this year.

Re: let's see some 8 lug trucks
Well this 63 is technically still mine. I made a trade for it this past weekend but the new owner has yet to pick it up.
It's a 63 3/4 ton with long bed step side.
