Do you have a bouncing fuel gauge? This may help...and THANKS!

When I completed the frame-off rebuild on my truck, the gas gauge was the only thing that didn't work (knock of wood). It had started registering empty sometime in the early 2000s after 15 years in storage. I assumed I'd found the problem when I discovered the gauge wire exposed under the sill plate. I repaired that and put in the new tach dash I'd cobbled together transferring only the speedometer from my original cluster. Nope, it still registered empty! I searched probably every thread that talked about gas gauge problems and installed a new sending unit. It registered the gas level, but the gauge would wildly bounce up and down about 1/4 tank while driving. Then, over the course of the last 2 years, the gauge gradually moved permanently to empty.

I searched more threads, and found 3 that allowed me to solve the problems. Maybe they'll help you if you have either of these problems.
