Rochester Carb Replacements

Hello all-

I'm new to the forum and also new to owning a restored 1962 C10. I do have a question about replacing the leaky Rochester single barrel carb with another single or 2 barrel carb. This is on a 235 6 cyl engine. Wondering who has done this and what make and model of carb you decided to go with and why. Thanks and look forward to gaining a ton of knowledge from this forum.

I went with the Weber 32/36 conversion from langdonsstovebolt.com on my 250. The engine runs smooth with great acceleration. Easy swap!

Thanks Fla Grown!

checking into it and it seems like a favored carburetor within the i6 owners.

I got my single barrel Rochester from O'Riely's . 30 dollar core. Looks and works great. Down the road I plan on running 2 of them on an offenhauser intake just for the cool factor. By the way I have a L6 230, 2 spd PowerGlide.

I'm also looking at running two carbs. I looked up what Fla Grown recommended at the Langdon's stove bolt site. I found the SKU 08-8011 carb for a duel set up and it seems to have good reviews and looks cool. Plus it's under $100 each. I just need to get some money together to make it happen!

Manifolds to hold a 2 or 4 barrel carb are fairly expensive for that engine as they are only available from one place. I'd replace it with a reman carb, you could call Autozone and they normally have the best price. Summit Racing has great prices to. The most common swaps I've seen for the 235 are dual single barrels and fenton headers. Makes for a sweet old school hotrod engine.
