2000 Blazer, no brake lights

Wifes S10 Blazer has no brake lights except for the third brake light on the roof, switched out the brake switch on the pedal, checked all fuses and replaced the four tail light bulbs, tail lights work normally just not when braking???

Check the hazard switch/multifunction switch on the steering column. Sometimes the contacts get a little loose in the hazard switch.

Do the hazards/turn signals work?

We also have an s10/blazer section.

Re: 2000 Blazer, no brake lights

I was gonna ask if the HMSL [that is high mounted stop lamp for those that don't speak the Newer GM] lights upon mashing the pedal. That indicates the multi function turn signal switch. The 3rd light is not hooked into the multi switch and if you have problem related to the lights [excluding headlamps] the multi function switch is most likely the culprit.I don't know why they had to do that but they did and the switch is high as a giraffes back

Thanks Trucker, the hazard switch was the problem, cycled the switch a few times and the brake lights are back, never would have figured that one out
