Canadian side hidden hitch

Anyone know where in Canada to buy a class 3 or 4 hidden hitch? Like this http://www.earlyclassic.com/catalog....ceiver+Hitches
Love this set up but after shipping, broker, exchange, etc. I can prob have a custom one made up.

Re: Canadian side hidden hitch

I literally just installed mine a few weeks ago. I searched everywhere to try to find something local to me, but ended up ordering from EarlyClassic. I could only find two places that even sold the hidden hitch system.

If you would have posted earlier I would have taken detailed measurements with pictures. I could probably still take some if you want.

Re: Canadian side hidden hitch

I put some stuff together...

There is a CAD drawing with measurements and notes on it.
Not shown on the CAD drawing is the gussets. They are about 1 3/4" triangle that is welded between the side plates and center bar.

If you do cut the main section in half you will probably want to weld a plate to the bottom and to the top for strength. I didn't put any measurements here as I figured anyone making their own would come up with their own design or idea.

A few things you need to know:

To install this style hitch the gussets for the rear leaf spring have to be removed. They are held in place by the rear leaf bolt and the two rivets. Drilling out the rivets is the easiest way, and it is a pain with the tank installed. Still easier than pulling the tank.

Second, don't put your forward most bolt too far forward. It is very difficult to properly torque with the fuel tank installed.

Third, trailer wiring kits are available that directly plug in between the front and rear harness. You need to do this before you put the hitch in, otherwise you probably won't be able to get to it.

Fourth, if you plan on using a flip license plate you will need a longer than normal hitch. It interferes with hitching your trailer if you don't have a long one.

Let me know if you have any question or need some more info.
