I have a Standard Motor Products #US26 in my truck right now. It appears to have an accessory position at 9:00, off at 10:30, another mystery off position where the key is not removable at 12:00, run at 1:30, and start at 3:00. I'm not really a fan of the extra off position (???) and I'm not sure the switch doesn't have an intermittent fault where it won't engage the starter solenoid (which was why I replaced the OE switch to begin with). I really need a nice OE quality switch that I can count on.
Rockauto also has an Airtex/Wells #1S6155 listed for $11.54 that I figure is probably the same thing. They have two AC Delco branded switches; #D1437F @ $21.79 and #D1436 @ $30.79. The cheaper AC Delco switch has the same picture as the SMP one I already have, so I fear it's also the same thing. Anyone have any experience here? I don't really need an accessory position, but I wouldn't mind one. Thanks ![]() |

Re: Best quality replacement ignition switch?
I think AC delco would be pretty good to go with. I haven't had to change one out yet....mine magically started working.
