Chopped windshield
Where would one get a windshield for a chopped top? Is there more to look into than the windshield if one is planning to do this?

If you check around, some of the glass shops will cut the windsheild for you.....its not cheap tho! I was quoted $450-500 to do the job(ouch). I worked in glass for about 10 yrs, & decided to cut my sheild. it worked out alright, but you have to know it took about 6 hrs to strip the sheild down to size......then that hand held belt sander, with a pump bottle of water to keep the glass cool......lets just say it was a good sized project for a "backyarder" without all the good tools the flat stuff is easy to cut , if you have a "feel" for glass.....the curved stuff takes some patience. I like chops, cool as hell! My longhorn has a 4" chop....that was a 60hr week to primer(my 1st 1)+ 6 or 7 threads in one knuckle(ouch). It was worth it tho.... I still havent done the door glass, but here is a link to a few shots... http://community.webshots.com/user/hotrodhorn good luck, crazyL

If you pick up a copy of HOW TO CHOP TOPS, by Tex smith you will see how the curved glass is cut, as well as about 4 different methods to chop our favorite truck....lots of good info! Ill dig up the book later, if you need the publisher. crazyL

There was a cab near by here that had already been chopped and was for sale - don't remember if it had glass or not.

There is a Car/Truck show tomorrow here on the Air Base, but I haven't seen anything but 72's really.

Hey welcome to the board from another Arkansan. Just 20 miles south of you in Jefferson. Didn't know of the show at the air base. Won't make it though. gonna buy a house and I have to go look at it one more time before i commit myself to 30 years of looking at it. Get some pics if you go.
