need opinions and bas bang for buck
I have a 1970 Chevy suburban that I am wanting to put a system in.
I have: Head unit -pioneer DXT-2266UB Sub -sony xplod XS-L121P5 What I was thinking of buying: Amp -Kicker ZX350.4 Speakers/tweeters? (Front) -Boston Acoustic SE-50 Rear speakers -??????????? Questions: 1. Can I run everything above off the amp then run the rear speakers once determined off of the deck? 2. Anyone got any better ideas on what I should buy instead of what I listed while staying close to the price of them. Thanks

Re: need opinions and bas bang for buck
In my 61 Panel I am going to run the fronts speakers off of an amp, and the rears off of the head unit. The rears are really just for fill, so they don't need to be as good as the fronts.

4x50w for the head unit and 4x60w for the kicker amp the head unit does not have a sub out, not sure what you'll have to do to make the stereo pre-outs into mono that sub needs a 400 amp amplifier for itself for a cheap system use the head unit as is to power your speakers buy a 400 amp mono amp just for the subwoofer for comparison: my 58 truk has an arc audio 400w amp 4x100w feeding 4 sets of 5.25'' arc audio component speakers and an arc audio 1x600w mono amp feeding the single 10'' arc audio sub it rocks

Re: need opinions and bas bang for buck
Those Boss speakers are the low end of the spectrum ($21 on Amazon). For very little more money, you can get much better quality. Like a pair of Pioneer TS-F1634R 6.5" 200W 2-Way Speakers for $23 on Amazon. Or a few dollars more could get you even better. Pioneer - TS-G1644R - Full Range Car Speakers for $29 on Amazon. Do yourself a favor and spend just a little more money and be happy! I'm not trying to say the Pioneers are the best!! Just that they are MUCH better than Boss for very little more money!!!!

Re: need opinions and bas bang for buck
boston acoustics is not boss, boss is right up there with pyle for quality; aka junk
i can't imagine you had much base in the honda with 60 amps going to two 12'' subs

Re: need opinions and bas bang for buck
My apologies! I mixed up your original post with twistedchevy's 2nd post where he mentioned a pair of Boss speakers. Boston Acoustics is a VERY good speaker. Mea Culpa.

As for my Honda I had 2channels running to the Boston acoustics setup and I'm assuming the other 2channels running to the 1 12" sub. The setup was loud enough to hear it half way down the block.

Re: need opinions and bas bang for buck
you might have heard distortion 2 blocks away but not much else driving a 12'' sub w/ 60 amps
i have no problem with you running boss speakers and a pyle head unit and amp you could probably pick up the whole package for less than $200 what ever rocks your boat
