Stock Battery Configuration

Could someone post a pic of the battery in a stock truck/stock configuration? Thanks, Dave

Re: Stock Battery Configuration

Thanks, appreciate the quick response. This covers it. I was on my cell earlier and didn't have the patience to type all the details! Basically I'm heading out to where my 68 K10 Shortbed is stored and need to pick up a battery on the way and want to get the posts right, not knowing where the cables come in but this explains. I recall now the pos post was on the left looking towards the back of the truck.

Re: Stock Battery Configuration

My battery is the exact opposite with the post on the far side of the battery. Positive post is toward the fender.

Which is correct?

Re: Stock Battery Configuration

The original batteries used before 71 were Delco R-59s. They were installed with both posts on the side closest to the core support and the positive post adjacent to the right fender which places it closest to the junction block on the fender. The fusible link was then run to the junction block. Here's a picture of mine which is installed as the battery was when the truck was new.
