1956 wiring questions
Im sure this is on here somewhere but I am having no luck.
1st can I run all dash lights on 1 wire? I need a wiring diagram MINUS external regulator ect I have a new EZ wiring harness and I have actually wired 2 vehicles complete before but its been a while. THANK YOU!!! |

Yes, they are powered off of the light switch, see attached. 20 ga grey wire off the "PL" tab. I used EZ wire too and think its part of the harness.

Cool the PO had wired each light individually and some of those were melted!!!!! SO heavier wire tied together to the grey in the new harness and I do thank you!!!!!!

as orrieg stated yes all one wire.
that little fuse on the headlight switch is for the dash lights, 20 ga wire is fine something happened that melted your wires posibly hooked up wrong the fuse is maybe 1 amp and would have blown before melting any wires and while your at it put a connector plug on your instrument cluster may orrieg can post a pic of his plug (i used individual plugs for each wire, it works too) i swear i've had my cluster out 20 times since truk has been on the road

I used a 7 wire trailer type plug, extra length and one connection makes it easier to R&R the panel. The three holes at the top are the lamps, my original harness was in good condition so I reused it. I also used separate wires for the amp meter because the wire gauge is larger than the connector wire size.
