my 68 k 20

heres my 68 K20 with 112K miles on it. been sitting for many many years. You hear the cliche about the barn find. well this is it including the smell of manuer. Does anybody recognise the aftermarket ac system? it says ACA in the center. and as you see one of the chrome thingies is missing....... And the fan shroud is damaged........

does anybody recognise the front hubs?
some heavy duty opions. got too dark to see and list them.

Re: my 68 k 20

this is the engine comparment.......

havent serviced the ac yet wondering what could replace the compressor. Like to keep it all origonal. are these compressors available or rebuildable?

pretty origonal under there huh?

looks all wet because I just spritz'd it with engine degreaser

going through it and servicineg every thing.

hoses and wires are either greasy and soft or dry rotted.

any comments or observations on origonality? Please share them.

my goal is to keep it origonal as can be

Score. That dude deserves to be put back on the road and driven. Resist the urge to make is something other than what it is which is a truck that was meant to be used and enjoyed.
Good for you.

That's a great find!

Which engine is that? Looks like a 327 to me, probably original. Keep 'er stock like god and Chevy intended!

What a great K/20? That 327 will be the large journal high-nickle, I believe, when you look it up

Keep those hubs around. They are original and stronger than anything you can buy (even lifetime guarantee Warns).

Re: my 68 k 20

The AC compressor appears to be a York. The same one is found on 66-86 series ih tractors, early 70s to early 80s. They can probably be found at most any auto parts store. Nice truck.

Re: my 68 k 20

The AC is a system installed by aftermarket installers in the 70s. Dealers would usually not handle "dealer-installed" AC and they would farm the job out.
