Seat question

I have a 76 1500 gmc that I want to put a current 40/20/40 split in it. Has any one tried this? Will it fit? I know I'm gonna need a extension bracket for the front feet of the jump seat and the inside front feet of the seats.

Thanks for any advice in the future on this topic.

You will probably have to shorten the outer brackets instead of lengthening the others. When I put 08 Silverado seats in my K5 the height was just right but k5s have flat floors not like a c10 pickup with raised seat area also my seats the brackets were all the same length all the way across I think the newer seats straddle the tunnel and don't mount on top of it

You wouldn't happen to have a write up or pictures for the seat swap would you? I want to put the same seats in my 89 K5 and was curious how it turned out. I checked the threads in your sig but didn't see it...

No I don't have pics of it but all I ended up doing is on drivers side was make a frame out of 1in square tubing that was raise about 2in to the top and unbolted the factory mounts and bolted the sliders directly to the frame I made its pretty simple but passenger side was a little trickier cause I made it flip forward like stock I will try to get pics of my brackets

Took some pics today I used angle iron on my frame for sliders but square can be used as well for passenger side I had to cut original k5 front bracket down and put a piece of 10ga. sheet metal to allow it to bolt to seat frame not slider I didn't think I needed a slider on passenger side so I placed it as far back as I could the back bracket was unchanged other than putting a piece of 10ga. Across it. Both side panels still fit as well

Blazer floors are completely different than a truck floor and that wouldn't work the same.

Ok. I have 2009 Silverado with the split bench and it's the same height as the buckets my 76 has. I measured from where the seat tracks mount to the floor up to the top of the seat. The actual part that u sit on not the back rest. The buckets I have now had the inside legs extended with some 4x4 wood blocks.

I would have thought they would be to tall in a pickup but the 09 seats should be the same as my 08 so you shouldn't have to use the blocks of wood anymore. When I first put them in my truck three of the mounts bolted in and one was about an inch off but again it not pickup I did eventually make a new floor bracket just cause I needed something more sturdy as I wheel my truck hard so it's now bolted in with all 8 factory bolts

I'll take a few pics tomorrow. I think the wood block should come out and I'll fab up a bracket to mount it all to.
