Glove Box Latch
I can't get the glove box latch off the fold down door. I need to change the glove box liner. Anybody know how to do it?
Thanks! . . Kevin |

Good Question
I was kinda curious about that myself. I have an old glovebox laying around. I was trying to get the latch off of it the other day. Pulled the knob off the front no problem and then began to loosed the treaded ring that holds it tight.
Well, the front of the thing has a bit of a flare on it to hold the knob and I have no idea how the threaded ring actually slides over this. I could get it good and loose and then.....no go. So I gave up - - it wasn't anything important anyway. But I sure hope you (we) get an answer to this puzzler. |

Like Chris said. It's a PIA really. Not very obvious.

I tried that on mine, but it didn't work. Honestly, I didn't spend too much time with it, since it wasn't too important to me. I'll just try it again some time.
Good luck Kevin. |

Finally got it! The hole in the front does nothing. Do not pry off the outside knob, it just bends the pot metal tabs on the knob and you still can't get the assembly out. You need to depress spring-loaded tabs on the latch body itself. Open the glove box and look at the small window cut in the housing on the latch. Use a small screwdriver and depress while wiggling on the outside knob and pulling outward. After the inside of the latch comes out you still need a large Allen wrench to unscrew the collar to finally get the whole thing out. It's hard to see the spring-loaded tabs but after you get it out it's pretty simple!
