Okay needing some input on Header options. I have a 68 half ton long bed that I have lowered 4 inches up front and 6 in the rear. What is the best header set that would work for this. I would love a set that just bolts on and that doesn't drag the ground. Any suggestions?

I have a set of Thorley Headers . They came down a little too low so the exhaust shop cut them and ran my exhaust just fine. Do a little measuring to see exactly what your truck needs. The muffler shop here where I'm from knew exactly what kind I needed. Maybe your local muffler shop can help.

Get a mid length header with a ball type collector and thick flanges those are less likely to leak. Jim

I'm using Headman mid length, only had to hammer one tube for plugs to fit( 1 3/4" primaries) Not sure of the part number, but I found it here when searching headers that fit.

Hedman Headers New Mid-Length headers don't hang past the frame rail and fit great. I've sold a few sets to customers at work. I'm going to use them on my 1971. Just look them up on their website.

mdeal do you have to do any modifications with them?

I'm 5.5" up front & 6" in the rear. I need to redo my pipes because the exhaust that is on it was built based on long tube headers. I made some down pipes to connect the headers to the existing pipes. I plan on getting the CPP trailing arm crossmember to run the pipes through to tuck them up. Here are pics of my drop and then the right & left sides of the motor to get an idea of the headers.

They really are super nice and fit perfect. Not 100% but I think they are used for Chevelles but fit our truck like they were built for them. Ill try and track down the part number. And you don't have to worry about exhaust leaks because they have you put black RTV silicon between the engine & header. Never had an exhaust leak and no loose header nolts.

I haven't installed them on my truck yet, but I've had a few customers that have used them on c10s and k10s with no issues.

I used the Sanderson headers mentioned by BIGMIKE, and they worked great. I purchased mine through Early Classic.

Went with flowmaster. I've had hookers, hedman's, sandersons,
thorley's, they are all good. (But only Hookers on a C-10 before).
I am impressed. Very good fit, very good finish (ceramic coated).
very good welds, and and tons of room between the frame,
oil filter, starter, steering linkage.

About a half an inch where the intermediate pipe flanges are.

Hey guys thanks for your opinions and recommendations. Now I have to make up my mind of which ones to get. Headmans, Thorley, Flowmasters, Sanderson,Flowtech. Man now I'm even more confused.
